“ Decided I was still yearning for something else after lunch, decided on Chinese. Heartys had disappointed me last few times I ordered but was in the late evening. Ordered from lunch menu today and loved it all. I had fried wings, orange chicken and chicken noodle soup w/ way enough for dinner tomorrow. My compliments to chef(s) on lunch duty 07/18/2024. ”
“ I love the shrimp & broccoli!!! Its always a plus and I usually get fried rice with it . ”
“ I absolutely love the food here. Flavorful with fresh veggies and good size portions for what you pay. The restaurant itself is not pretty by any means, and could easily send you walking across the parking lot to MCD's. But you would be missing out. This spot is nowhere as bad as a BCity carry out and they deliver. The same guy delivers every time. We call him "Ikeepit" because no matter what you give him, he asks "I keep it?" Lol Now if you do allow him to "keep it", you are set for life on delivery times (generally 45 minutes minimum-now more like 30 minutes). Let me tell you about the food. We order pretty much the same every time. General Tso Chicken, combination Lomein, veggie fried rice, Chicken with Broccoli, and Steamed Dumplings. All these items are delicious. Especially when eaten freshly cooked. The Tso is crispy and has the salty sweet sauce that I love. The chicken and broccoli is perfectly cooked where the broccoli still has a nice snap to it and the chicken is moist and juicy. This one is one of our favorites! In my own opinion I think the easiest way to determine if your Chinese carry out is worth anything, is to order combination lo mein or combination fried rice. If they can cook those items to your liking and still keep the vegetables fresh tasting, then you have a carry out with some clout. Those items should never just be filler. Here at Hearty's, they're my favorite. Never oily and full of flavor. Oh! And for dessert they have the old school MCD's fried apple pies, before they changed over to the baked ones. Only apple. If they had Cherry I'd have to move in. ;) I couldn't believe the low rating this place got. Yes, it needs a major makeover. Yes, it could be cleaner. But the mistake that is made here is clearly on your part. You must have mistook the waiting lounge for dine in restaurant seating. It's ok. I almost did too. Just order, listen to the order taker repeat you order back in lightning speed, and as broken as a language can get. When you hear them stop talking, just nod. Go sit in the food in preparation waiting area that looks like a dining area. Listen for your number on your ticket. DON'T LOSE YOUR TICKET. When you hear your number, grab your food and leave the building. Eat it on the curb, at your house. Or next to a PG County Dumpster Fire. No matter where you eat it, it's going to be good! Now, with the exception of a few more items, this is all I get from Hearty's. I can't tell you if the Steak and Cheese is any good. I don't order subs or any other non Chinese foods from Chinese food joints. I get those from Sub shops. Enjoy!! ”
“ Ignore the bad reviews. This place is always quick to deliver and their food looks and tastes fresh. I love their general tsos chicken and their wings come hot and fresh. I wish their General Tsos shrimp was cheaper but hey...gotta pay to play right? Anywho..... This is my go to. Count this is a triple 5 star review because my other co workers order from here often. I got this for a lunch in and the fellas live it. Best Chinese food in the area. ”
